IRAN nuclear crisis

With all the talks and threats going around about the Iranian nuclear program, I keep wondering what the big deal is about. The US and the other countries already have enough weapons to destory the world many times over. During the cold war, the MAD policy worked very well in preventing a nuclear conflict. So which is the country protesting the loudest against nuclear weapons - USA. Now which is the only country to have used nuclear weapons against a non nuclear country to end a war - oh the answer again is the USA.
No weapons have been found in Iraq yet, I know these are not new arguments. But what have the US reaction to Iran's nuclear plans resulted in - higher oil prices. Who is one of the largest oil producers in the world - Iran. So the net result is more money to Iran which gives it the resources to buy nuclear material in the black market. The opposition also diverts people's attention from welfare to nationalism etc.
If US drops its opposition but warns Iran that if nuclear weapons are used, that would result in the end of the Iranian nation and then backs off from any further action like sanctions. What would this result in?
Oil prices come down, resulting in less revenues to Iran, cheaper oil for rest of the world. The Iranian goverment can no longer afford to continue the nuclear program by diverting money from welfare programs. With the absence of US threat, the goverment would find it difficult to control its young population from demanding a more open society and soon lead to overthrow of the goverment if it does not concentrate on people's needs.
Sometimes it is better to ignore people than to engage them by threats. Ignoring signals their insignificance and naturally make them come to the negotiating table.

Citizenship

Took my oath or rather affirmed my loyalty to the Queen. I have mixed feelings about it now - how British am I? Personally still feel Indian at heart with divided loyalties. But should that be the case, I took up the citizenship on my own free will rather than being given due to an uncontrollable act of birth. The more I think about it, the more I feel it to be just an act of convenience - to get a passport which allows me to travel freely across the continent.
One friend asked a very pointed question - what happens if India and UK go to war, I did not have an answer other than saying well renounce my British Citizenship and go back to India, but I am sure that day (the war I mean) would never come. But now in the World cup season, I have a team to support: Come on England.

JFDI

Just finally did it, created my own blog. This was a task on my "TODO" list since the start of the year.
